Short-term rental is a phrase that gets thrown around our industry, but what does it practically mean for your customers?
There are many situations where renting or hiring commercial refrigeration can be extremely useful - and we’ve outlined some examples from our customers below to give some insight into the possibilities that can be achieved with short term rental.
Short Term Rental can be a great solution for keeping food and drink products cool and at food safe temperatures during an exhibition or expo.
Recently, a pet food supplier got in touch as they needed a display fridge for a 3-day exhibition. As they were also selling their pet food as well as displaying it, they required their refrigeration to keep product at a consistent temperature (with the pet food at a food-safe temperature), and it also had to display the pet food in an appealing and effective way. SKOPE Funding were able to supply them a display fridge that ticked off all these requirements easily and kept the customer happy.
The SKOPE team was contacted by a local restaurant who were experiencing supply delays of their refrigeration equipment which was going to force a delay of their opening. We supplied them with three double door, back-of-house fridges which they were able to rent week-to-week. This meant they could open their business on time and start making money. Even if further delays were experienced, they were covered.
During the flooding in New South Wales in 2021, a bottle shop lost everything and while they waited for their insurance claim to be processed, they were able to quickly access short term rental fridges to get back up and running sooner. As most of their nearby competitors were also impacted, they were able to generate an increase in sales by reopening faster than anyone else.
A new wholesale food supplier launched a product line of prepared meals and wanted to entice retail businesses to promote their product by offering a free on loan fridge based on sales. However, being a start-up business meant they didn’t have a lot of cash reserves to purchase and supply from the outset and were hesitant to commit to the scheme without gauging interest first. They were able to rent some SKOPE Open Deck fridges through SKOPE Funding which allowed them the flexibility to try with some customers without the high initial costs.
They were able to build a customer base and prove the trial was successful and then moved onto a long term Operating Lease for their permanent customers and continued to trial new customers using short term rental.
There are many ways that Short Term Rental can be an ideal solution for your customers.
With SKOPE Funding’s short term rental solutions, you’ll get SKOPE’s ultra-reliable commercial refrigeration without having to worry about any long-term commitments (commit at a week-to-week or month-to-month term).
It’s a turn-key solution that offers complete peace of mind. We even clean, tag and test every fridge before delivery to make sure nothing slows you down.
